SOFT DISRUPTIONS, 2025
Soft Disruption is a playful, site-specific artwork that takes the many holes in the streets of Budapest as its starting point for street art, much like the Hungarian Two-Tailed Dog Party. It was exhibited at the end of Hannah Imhoff's residency with Budapest Gallery and the City of Salzburg at the Massolit exhibition space, which is located in an English bookstore in Budapest.
UPCOMING
ART LICENCE, 2024
The Art Licence shop is a playful look into the dialogue between artists and institutions, acknowledging the absurdity of greater institutional structures by merging the openly accessible Kabinett kiosk in London with the ubiquitously gated practice of collecting art. This creates a dynamic and interactive art experience that engages visitors directly, both during and after their visit to the exhibition.

This is not an exhibition, one might want to warn the visitors before entering Hannah Imhoffs show „Try before Museum.“ Before you step into the exhibition, expect the familiar neutrality of the white cube, and the certainty of what counts as an artwork, to dissolve. You, the visitor, will not be exempt.
With an awareness of the unequal foundations on which art institutions are built, financed, and sustained, Imhoff raises pointed questions about the art world’s status quo. She brings the rules and structures that organize exhibition spaces to the surface, making visible the viewpoints that are consistently excluded (see Eyelevel, 2026). By foregrounding that people are the system, she asks who maintains the hierarchical and exclusionary structures of the so‑called exhibition.

SOFT DISRUPTIONS, 2025
Soft Disruptions are playful, site-specific, temporary sculptures that take the many potholes in the streets of Budapest as their starting point for street art. They were exhibited at the end of Hannah Imhoff's residency with Budapest Gallery at Massolit, Budapest's English bookstore.
HINTER DIESER TÜR, 2022
With her exhibition ‘Hinter dieser Tür’ (Behind this door), Hannah Imhoff enters more than just the public space. She addresses socio-political issues, questions stereotypical and dogmatic roles (and the space between them) of women and men, and illuminates them in an empathetic but urgent way.
